Stacey “Sassy” (Stovall) Lockwood
August 15, 1958 ~ February 6, 2023

Stacey “Sassy” Lockwood, age 64 of Wayne, passed away February 6, 2023. Stacey Kay Stovall was born August 15, 1958 in Odessa, Texas, the baby of four children born to James Woodrow Stovall and Del Marie (Conelly) Stovall.

She was raised primarily in Blythe, California and attended school in Palm Springs. She returned to Texas and settled in Amarillo. By chance she met a young man named, Jimmy Lockwood. They were introduced by a mutual friend, and the rest as they say is history. They were married in Denison, Texas in 1983. Together they raised two children, Shannon and Justin. Sassy worked tirelessly, caring and providing for her family. She was an animal lover and loved to play games of all kinds. From bingo to dominoes, card games to snapchat videos, Sassy claimed them all! She loved people, and would always greet you with a smile. She was a woman of great faith, and leaves this as her greatest legacy. She cherished Jimmy, her children, and was the proudest Gma. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by: her mother, Del Marie Moore; her father, James Woodrow Stovall; and siblings, Leslie Qualls, Jacqueline Lovelady, Barbara Bashrum, and James Stovall Jr.

Sassy is survived by: her husband Jimmy of the home; daughter Shannon Lockwood of Edmond; son Justin Lockwood (Christine Flies) of Wayne; sister Kelly Ezell (Roy) of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Amber Wimer (Ashley), Dalton Lile (Drew), Sean Flies, Jimmy Lockwood and a host of other family and friends.

Celebration of Life Memorial is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Little’s Chapel.
