Anna Maxine Lockin

Anna Maxine Lockin
January 19, 1931 ~ January 20, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Anna Maxine “Mac” Lockin announce her passing on January 20, 2025 at the age of 94. Born on January 19, 1931 in Holden, Missouri, she will be greatly missed by her family and friends as she was a gift to all who knew her.

Maxine was raised in Clarinda, Iowa and from a young age, she exhibited remarkable intelligence, compassion, and wit - traits that would define her throughout her life. She attended Clarinda High School where she was a cheerleader and homecoming queen and excelled in academics, graduating at the top of her class.

In 1951, Maxine Dillon married Theodore “Ted” D. Lockin. She supported Ted throughout his Navy career, professional career at both Phillips 66 and the family-owned business “Premier Motors”, and civic duties as city councilman and Mayor. She was the proud and devoted mother of Steve, Doug, Ann and Linda, and immensely proud of the fact that all seven of her grandchildren achieved college degrees and several attaining post-graduate degrees. She always put her family needs above her own, and was there to support her kids through sports, school activities, and life endeavors. She taught her family the importance of kindness and helping others, the value of hard work and the power of faith. She created a home with unconditional love, and her unique and witty character will always be treasured.

Maxine was deeply involved in her community, dedicating 50 years and over 50,000 volunteer hours at Jane Phillips Hospital in Bartlesville where doctors, nurses and staff affectionately called her Mac. She touched the lives of many, even found time to volunteer at the Natural History Museum. When not volunteering or tending to her family, Maxine was a wiz at doing jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles and loved to read, travel and go on ocean cruises.

Maxine is survived by her son Doug and his wife Pat, daughter Ann and her husband Craig Hacker, daughter Linda and her husband Charles Ricks; her grandchildren Celeste Chumlea and her husband Grant, Julia Lockin and her husband Trevor, Chris Hacker, Darren Hacker and his wife Elise, Lisa and her husband Joe White, Angela and her husband Bryce Mayes, Laura and her husband Matt Fincher; Eleven great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends, all who will truly miss her. She was preceded in death by husband Ted Lockin and eldest son Steve Lockin.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their love and support during this difficult time including the staff of Saint Simeons and Angels Care Hospice. Your kindness and compassion have been a source of comfort and strength. A Celebration of Life service to honor and celebrate the life of Maxine Lockin will be held on March 1, 2025, 10:00am at Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville.

As we bid farewell to our cherished Maxine, we take solace in the knowledge that she is now at peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. Her love and light will continue to shine upon us, and she will be forever remembered and missed. Rest in peace Mac.
