Dr. Ernest Leon Little, 77, of Norman Oklahoma, died Monday morning, the sixteenth of April.
Ernest (or Doc as he was well known) was born to Elsie and Elmer Little on November 26th, 1934 in Decatur Illinois. He received his Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of Oklahoma in 1966, and since had become an integral part of the state’s Department of Corrections as a clinical psychologist working daily with those convicted and standing as inmates of The Lexington Correctional Facility.
He was a man with a sense for the tastes of wealth while retaining all humility and personability with those with whom he came in contact with. He led a varied and full life, having been across the nation, as well as having spent significant time in such exotic locations as Costa Rica. He loved Jazz music such as the compositions of Stan Kenton and Thelonious Monk and standard poodles, most notably one more recent named “Boo Boo”. He was a man any person could sit and talk through their troubles with, be it professionally, or over a dry vodka martini, straight up, three olives. He was a man whom after meeting one could not have been unchanged. He will be dearly missed, he was loved by many, and admired by all.
Ernest is survived by his only son: Zachary Little, 20, of Norman Oklahoma.
Big E, you’ll never understand how much we’ll miss you.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 28, 2012 in the Chapel of the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook St., Norman.
Arrangements for Ernest and his family were placed in the care of the Vice Family at Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
