Betty Jean Listen, a lifetime resident of Edmond, OK, passed away on January 1, 2021. She was born on June 6, 1933, to Roy and Lucille Hood. She attended Edmond schools then graduated Hill’s Business School. Betty married David Wayne Listen in 1951.
Betty loved having her family all together for holidays, which always included a feast. She also loved her work and worked until the week before she passed away. Her work experience included Secretary for First Christian Church, Edmond, Office Manager for TG&Y, Accounting Department at Tapp Development, Office Manager for Cook’s Hardware, Bookkeeper for various homebuilders, and ended her work career as a Bookkeeper for Holco. She thoroughly enjoyed each job. Betty enjoyed traveling and she, her husband, sister, and brother-in-law traveled extensively around the world creating many memories that she loved to share.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gary Listen; and grandson, Jeremy Stilwell.
She is survived by her husband; daughter, Katherine Stilwell & husband, Roger; daughter, Carlita Listen; grandson, Shane Stilwell & wife Susan; grandson, Jayson Listen; grandson, Cory Listen & wife Masey; great grandchildren, Ashlee Reed and husband Michael, Corban Self, Skylar Ludwig, and Ellee Listen; great great granddaughter, Aria Reed; and sister, Rose Millender.
