Ronald Dean Linscott passed peacefully at his home in Atoka, OK on July 8, 2025 aged 66 years. Ron spent the vast majority of his life living and working in Atoka County. He was born July 2, 1959 to Gordie Gene and Betty Lou (Weakley) Linscott. He attended Lane Public School and was a member of the Atoka High School class of 1977.
He married the love of his life, Linda Jones Linscott, in Sherman, Texas. They had one son, Ethan Hight Linscott, and their marriage of more than 30 years lasted until Linda's death in 2018. He had a long career as the advertising manager of the Atoka County Times where he worked until his retirement in 2020. He especially enjoyed keeping close touch with the community through his weekly newspaper deliveries and was a familiar sight at numerous county businesses throughout Atoka County.
Ron had an unmatched passion for life. He loved jokes, games, and time spent with friends and family. During his long marriage, Ron and Linda enjoyed hosting parties, playing dominoes, and going on trips with loved ones. They loved the outdoors and spent most of the beautiful Oklahoma summers together at the lake or in the garden. Ron was a prolific gardener and grew ever growing vegetable gardens for more than 20 years. Ron is best remembered for his larger-than-life personality and his cheeky sense of humor.
