Robert Lee Lingo passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, following a lengthy illness at his home in Yukon, Okla., at the age of 80.
Robert was born June 8, 1934, in Enid, Okla., to Albert George Lingo and Emogene Thornburg Lingo.
Robert graduated from Goltry high school in 1952.
He enlisted in the Army and served for four years.
He attended Oklahoma State University and Northwestern Oklahoma State, graduating in 1962, with a degree in accounting.
Robert worked for Kerr McGee Corporation, retiring as assistant controller after 26 years.
Robert loved being on the farm, the planting and the harvest, serving God in raising his family and service as a deacon to First Baptist Church of El Reno.
Robert is survived by his wife, Lola Faye of 54 years; daughter, Tamyra F. Fancher and husband Gary; his two sons, Stan and wife Renee and Jerry and wife Julie; six grandchildren, Justin Lingo and wife Ashley, Matthew Campbell and wife Kristin, Jacob Lingo and wife Allie, Catherine Lingo, Jordan Lingo and Jadyn Lingo; one great-grandson, Wyatt Campbell; and one sister, Letha Bryant of Tulsa.
Preceded in death by his sister, Faye Davis and brother, Clarence Lingo.
Robert has willed his body to OU Medical Services.
A memorial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at First Baptist Church of El Reno.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund of First Baptist Church of El Reno or Russell Murray Hospice of El Reno.
