Catharine Elizabeth (Wilhelm) Linehan died on December 9, 2021, at the age of 106. She was born January 17, 1915 in Lima, Ohio, to John Christian and Anna Mary (Stein) Wilhelm. When she was one year old the family moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Catharine graduated from Bartlesville High School in 1933 and worked at the Examiner Enterprise until her marriage to Daniel George Linehan in 1936, who preceded her in death in 1975. Together they had eight children.
She loved traveling with her children, crocheting, and playing bridge. Until her move to Oklahoma City in 2008, she was a member of St John Church, AARP-Senior Citizens, St Martha Alter Society, Post Oak Home Extension Club, several bridge clubs and Jane Phillips Hospital Auxiliary where she volunteered for over 33 years. She became a Golden Okie Centenarians of Oklahoma in 2020 at the age of 105. She was a devout Catholic and attended daily mass for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, oldest son, Daniel George Linehan, Jr and his wife Herta, grandson David Platt, and daughter-in-law Sherry (Mrs. Joseph Michael Linehan).
She is survived by her children, John Linehan and wife Caroline, Patricia Ann Platt, Joseph Michael Linehan, Thomas Stephen Linehan and wife Sherri, Richard Linehan, Mary Elkan and husband Glen, William Linehan and wife Allyson. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be held at St John Before the Latin Gate Roman Catholic Church in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on January 22, 2022 with a rosary at 9:30 and a funeral mass at 10:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mary Martha Outreach, St John Catholic School or the charity of your choice.
