Bessie Ree (Robbins) Lilley, born June 8, 1932, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021, in Durant, Oklahoma. Bessie, born in Armstrong, Oklahoma, was the daughter of Burl Robbins and Lois Wright Robbins.
Bessie and husband Lynwood Lilley were married for 72 years. From their marriage came three children. Bessie took great pride in being a homemaker.
She enjoyed cooking for her family and growing beautiful flowers. Bessie was a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved their visits and had many photos of them in her home.
Bessie is survived by her husband, Lynwood; daughter, Vicki Stachowski and grandchildren, Erick Stachowski and David S. Stachowski (Brandy) of Durant; son, David L. Lilley (Marty) and grandchildren, Jeremy Shannon (Kim) of Durant; Michael Knight (Nancy) of Rogers, Arkansas, and Mika Lampkin (Kale) of Ada; daughter-in-law, Melissa Lilley of Durant and grandson, Dr. Tristan Lilley (Laura) of Lexington, Kentucky; five great-grandsons, three great-granddaughters, two great-great granddaughters, one great-great grandson, and many nieces and nephews.
Bessie was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law Timothy Stachowski, Sr.; and son, Michael W. Lilley.
Memorial services are pending. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Donations may also be made through St. Jude’s website.
