Celebration of life service for Gina Lewis, 59, of Enid will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2022, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. www.andersonburris.com
If you are expecting to read a typical and basic obituary, you’re going to be disappointed. Gina hated those and certainly won’t let her own be “basic”.
If you know anything about Gina, you know she liked animals more than people. Although, after 59 years on this earth, she certainly impacted countless peoples’ lives and had a heart much bigger than she would have liked to admit. Gina was always cold, but if she cared about you, she was the warmest person you would have ever known.
As the only girl of 4 kids, Gina’s parents had their hands full. Gina was very much Pete’s daughter-stubbornness and all.
Larry was lucky enough to win Gina’s heart when they met at an apartment complex in Des Moines, IA. He even convinced her to marry him. After 2 kids (Michael & Megan) and almost 37 years, she didn’t regret saying her “I Do’s” to Larry back on March 30, 1985.
Gina wasn’t afraid to tell you how it was, especially if she thought you needed to hear it. “Take no bull” was her approach to most things. She obtained her Associates Degree in Business Technology from Fairview Vo-Tech and was so good, they asked her to teach the class.
If Dr. Pepper could have been a blood type, that would have been hers. Gina loved trying new restaurants. Her good eats rating scale started at “Eh, it will make a turd” and went up to “Absolutely will be back”.
Being the mastermind behind jokes or going on adventures with her friends and loved ones was Gina’s favorite things to do, and of course meet all the animals she could along the way. Although she would rather be behind a camera, she had some amazing friends that forced her into a few pictures here and there.
Gina was taken from this world too soon, and is now at eternal rest with her son, Michael Lewis and her father, Virtus “Pete” Kehnemund.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Anderson Burris Funeral Home at 10:00 am on Friday, February 11th.
Gina wouldn’t want flowers, but would ask that if you want to make any contributions or donations, to please donate to a local animal shelter or rescue.
