Betty June Lewis

Feb. 13, 1931 ~ Feb. 19, 2012

Betty June Lewis was born Feb. 13, 1931, in Marlow, the daughter of Ira Hawkins and Iva Mae Hen son. She passed from this life on Feb. 19, 2012, at the age of 81 years and six days.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wesley Lewis Sr.; brother, Sam Tarter; daughter, Carol Anne Peterson; and granddaughter, Deanna Trower.

She leaves behind a son, Wesley Lewis Jr. of Tahlequah; daughters, Jenise Graziano and Jeanette Meath, both of California, Jacyn Nietrzeba of Florida, and Samantha Leperche of Tahlequah; a sister, Dee Fordiani; a brother, Clint Hawkins; nephews, Jim Bliss and Gary Bliss and wife Pamila; niece, Debbie Carlisle; 12 grandchildren, as well as many great-grandchildren, and a host of friends and loved ones.

A longtime resident of Tahlequah, she will be missed by all who knew her. Betty donated herself to scientific research, a memorial will be held at a later date to be announced.
