Judy Ann Levy (nee Taft) of Naples, Florida, passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family on February 1, 2018. Judy was born in Enid, Oklahoma, to Harold Taft, Sr. and Nellie Taft (nee Cowles) in 1938. As a sister, she was preceded in death by her siblings Harold Taft, Bob Taft, Patsy Taft (Brown), Annette Taft (Northcutt) and Mary Taft (Bond).
As the youngest of a large, deep-rooted, foundational Oklahoma family, Judy graduated from Enid High School in 1957 and went on to pursue studies at the University of Oklahoma. At OU she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. While an undergraduate, Judy met and married her now dearly-departed husband of 50 years, Stephen Mathew Levy.
Judy, a compassionate and devoted wife, and Steve, a renowned Chevron geophysicist, are survived by a loving family residing throughout the world.
Judy is remembered fondly and honored by family members in Oklahoma, Utah, New York, Colorado, Florida, California, England, Holland and many other regions of the globe where she lived raising children.
She is survived by her 4 children: Todd, Susan, Betsy and Matt, as well as her 10 grandchildren: Katie, Andrew, Stephen, Allison, Ryan, Rachael, Ben, Caroline, Emma and Jack. Judy is further survived by 4 great-grandchildren: Bridget, Audrey Ann, Thomas, Zev and many more unnamed to follow.
She led a beautiful life and was loved by all, never knowing a stranger. Judy lived life as a consummate Friend, Partner, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Bridge Partner and Confidant. Judy continues to provide multiple generations with happy memories and stories, gaining interest every year, as she often said "Never let the truth get in the way of a good story."
Memorials in her memory may be made to Leonardo's Discovery Warehouse with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the fund
Funeral services will be held at Hodges Funeral Home at 525 111th Street, Naples, FL, on Monday, February 5, 2018, with viewing at 12:00-2:00, services following.
