ENID, Okla. - NORTHWOOD, Iowa - Peggy Lucille Lemmon, 66, of Northwood, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at her daughter's home in Northwood.
A visitation for Peggy will be held from 5-7 p.m. today, Jan. 17, 2013, at Conner Colonial Chapel, 1008 First Ave. South, Northwood, Iowa. Following visitation, cremation will take place and a celebration of her life service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at First Christian Church in Carmen, Okla., with Rev. Dorrance Manning officiating, assisted by Rev. Darryl Manning and Rev. Kirk Board.
Peggy Lucille Lemmon was born Oct. 25, 1946, in Sweetwater, Tenn., the daughter of Hugh "Red" and Rosa Lee (Palmer) Moses.
She attended school in Loma Linda, Calif., and also graduated from a beauty college in Enid, Okla.
She was united in marriage to Johnny Lemmon on July 21, 1979, at First Baptist Church in Carmen, Okla.
Peggy worked in several areas for 20 years at the Carmen Nursing Home in Carmen, Okla. Peggy also worked as a cosmetologist at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Okla., and also worked at Field Stone Cabinetry, and the Beauty Nook in Northwood, retiring due to ill health.
Peggy enjoyed playing video games, attending church at Cross Roads Church in Albert Lea, Minn., and going out to eat with her family, but her greatest enjoyment was being with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Northwood Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Johnny Lemmon of Northwood; her children, Ricki (Keith) Knight of Perry, Okla., Tim Perryman of Perry, Okla., Tonya (Clif) Davis of Northwood, and Susan Lemmon of Northwood; her special extended family, Lonnie (Samantha) Davis of Northwood, and Christy Caveny of Dallas, Texas; her grandchildren, Kimberly Perryman, Mitchell (Tulsa) Penner, Linzey Perryman, Tim Davis and special friend Katherine Paggeot, Tyler Davis, Chandler Caveny, Mackenzie Davis, Aaron Davis and Madi Davis; her great-grandchildren, Brantley Penner and Harper Davis; her brother, Jimmy Moses, and sister-in-law Carleen Moses, both of Calif.; sister-in-law, Audrey Rountree; brother-in-law, Dorrance Manning; sister-in-law, Laberta (Bob) Thomas; and a brother-in-law, David (Melva) Lemmon; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and many other extended family members and friends.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Gladys and Mary; brother, Ralph; sister-in-law, Evelyn Manning; brother-in-law, Reuben Rountree; and an infant son, Randy.
