Shirley Marie Taylor Washburn Lejska was born on April 25, 1934, to Francis and Myrtle Taylor at Tryon, Okla. Shirley departed this life on December 27, 2025, at the age of 91.
Her greatest joy in life was being a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ and to the many she cared for with much love.
In 1952, Shirley moved to Shawnee and began working at Sylvania for many years. In 1954, she married Glen Washburn and enjoyed 27 happy years until his passing in 1981.
Shirley was a janitor for Shawnee High School until her retirement. In 1991, she married Joe Lejska and was blessed with 12 years until his passing in 2003.
Preceding in death were her parents, husbands Glen and Joe, and five brothers, Carl, Bill, Wesley, Ralph and Earl, and two sisters, Ruth Jeske and Lucy Rolan.
Survivors are one brother, Clyde Taylor and two sisters-in-law, Agnes Taylor and Glenda Taylor, and many very special nieces and nephews, and many brothers and sisters in the Lord.
Memorial service will be held January 7 at 7 p.m. at Church of God Chapel, five miles east of Meeker, 348402 U.S. Hwy. East 62.
