William Ruben Leihsing

William Ruben Leihsing
July 22, 1959 ~ August 01, 2020

William Ruben Leihsing was born July 22, 1959 at Thomas, Oklahoma to Emmett and Velda (Rauh) Leihsing. He departed this life on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at his home in Watonga, Oklahoma.

William was raised in the Canton community and graduated with the class of 1977 at Canton High School. He joined the U.S. Marine Corp. in 1979 and was honorably discharged after four years of service and also served in the reserves. William worked at Waldon Mfg. and Mabar in Fairview, Seaboard farms and also was a contract mail carrier for a number of years. He enjoyed working on vehicles, going to car shows, fishing, scenic drives and garage sales. William also liked to watch a few soaps with his sisters, the Three Stooges, spending time with his family and friends, and collected gnomes. He especially loved his four legged fur babies.

William was preceded in death by his parents; two infant brothers, Aaron and Michael; and his grandparents, Ruben and Lottie Rauh and William and Grace Leihsing. Survivors include two sisters, Gayla Hawthorne of Watonga, Oklahoma and Kat Leihsing of Fairview, Oklahoma; two nephews, Christopher Womack of California and Gale Womack of Watonga, Oklahoma; two great-nieces, Erica of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Sabrina Womack and her friend Dayna Lime of Watonga, Oklahoma; longtime best friend Danny Newton of Watonga, Oklahoma; his four legged fur babies, Goober and Abby Normal; and many relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Pierce Funeral Home, Canton, Oklahoma. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 6, 2020 at the Canadian Camp Ground Pavilion at Canton Lake with Pastor Mary Ferguson and Pastor Barbara Tewell officiating. Services are under the direction of Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.
