Iris LeGrand was born November 16, 1926 to Bessie and Sam LeGrand. She passed away July 18, 2016 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years 8 months and 2 days.
Iris was born on the family home place where she remained her entire life carrying on the tradition of farming and ranching. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, reading and growing flowers.
Iris was longtime member of the Sweetwater First Baptist Church where she taught the Children's Sunday Class for over 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, A. B., Sam, Jr., and Frank LeGrand, 2 infant sisters and a sister, Imo LeGrand.
She is survived by her special nephew, Mark LeGrand and his wife, Cathy, who she called her "kids", Sweetwater, OK; 1 sister, Kay Hammon, Amarillo, TX; her nephews, Roy LeGrand and wife, Deanna, Reydon, OK, Rex LeGrand and wife, Linda, Greenwood, AR, Robert Hammon and wife, Sherry, Amarillo, TX, and James LeGrand and wife, Amber, Altus, OK; her nieces, Alexia White and husband, Frank, Fay, OK, Diana Crosby and husband, Ronald, Erick, OK, and Darla Aufill and husband, Jeff, Seebrook, TX; great nieces, great nephews, and a host of other relatives and friend.
