Steven Wayne Leeper, known to his friends and loved ones as Steve, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2023, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 70. He was born on August 30, 1953, in La Rochelle, France.
Steve was a paragon of love and compassion, devoted as a son, husband, brother, and friend. A jesting bard, he wove laughter into the fabric of existence, leaving a trail of mirth in his wake. The creatures of the wild found solace in his tender care, for he nurtured an ardent affection for all living beings, from rescues to strays, birds to squirrels, and even the humble spiders that wove their delicate webs.
Steve is survived by his beloved mother, Patricia Stanley, his cherished wife, Linda Leeper, and the constellation of love that adorned his life: his sister Catherine Leeper-Krans, his sister Carol Davis, and her devoted partner, Jim Davis. His legacy extends to his sons Joseph and Josh Leeper, alongside their cherished partners Kristen and Elba, respectively. The tapestry of his existence glimmers with the light of seven grandchildren: Joey, Adrian, Samantha, Eric, Jacob, Eli, and Jackson Leeper. His nephews Kevin Krans, Mark Evans and Christopher Davis, along with his niece Carrie Angelone shine on.
We remember those who preceded Steve in the eternal embrace of the beyond. His father, Robert Lee Leeper, his sister Rebecca Sue Krans, and his brother John Leeper, guide his soul towards the heavenly light.
Steve attended Enid High School in Enid, Oklahoma, and later pursued higher education at Elkins Institute of Technology in Dallas, Texas. He had a successful career and recently retired from EMBARK, Oklahoma City's metro transit system.
A talented musician and singer, Steve shared his gift with others. He was also a motorcycle enthusiast, finding joy in the open road.
A celebration of Steve's life will be held on December 15, 2023, at 10:00 AM at St. Andrew's Community Church, located at 2727 SW 119th St., Oklahoma City, OK. Let us join hands and hearts, sharing memories, as we say "see you later" to our beloved Steve.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the local animal shelter in Steve's memory.
May Steve's soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memories bring comfort to those who loved him.
