WALTER RAY LEE - Services for Walter Ray "WR" Lee of Thackerville were Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Clement-Keel Chapel. Officiating was Rev. David Whittington, pastor of the Woodbine Baptist Church.
Mr. Lee was born January 21, 1933, at Thackerville and died June 5, 1999, in the Gainesville Memorial Hospital, Gainesville, Texas, at the age of 66. He was the son of W.N. and Jessie Leona Beavers Lee.
A member of the First Baptist Church of Thackerville, Mr. Lee was also a member of the Southern Oklahoma Development Association and a director for the Thackerville Volunteer Fire Department. He and the former Wanda Jean "Tina" Koonce were married October 10, 1953, at Brownfield, Texas.
Survivors include his mother, Jessie Leona Lee; two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter Neal and Brenda Lee of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Eddie and Angela Lee of Thackerville; a daughter and son-in-law, La Wanna Rae and Steve Wheat of Rowlett, Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, Lyndon and Nora Lee of Lake Kiowa, Texas; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lee was preceded in death by his father, Walter Nim lee; a sister, Marie Morris; and a brother, Billy Wayne Lee.
Services were directed by the Clement-Keel Funeral Home with interment in the New Resthaven Cemetery.
