Grady Eugene Lee
January 10, 1933 ~ April 10, 2021

Grady Eugene Lee (Gene) passed from this physical life to his everlasting life on Saturday, April 10, 2021 in Denver, Colorado, following ill health. He was 88 years of age.

Born January 10, 1933, in Calera, Oklahoma, he was the second son of Roy R. and Zenobia M. Johnson Lee.

Grady taught 30 years with Denver Public Schools, and was a pastor in Platter, Oklahoma 1955, in Durant Oklahoma 1966-1967 and in Denver Colorado 1957-1966.

He was a kind and compassionate person, sincere in his relationships and devoted to spiritual endeavors. He especially loved his own family and led by example. He will be remembered as a devout husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Grady was preceded in death by his parents, and a baby brother, Loren, all of Calera, Oklahoma, a sister, Nida Brinlee, of Ft. Worth, Texas, and two brothers, William M. Lee of Columbia, South Carolina, and Donald Ray Lee, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

He leaves his loving wife of 65 years, Royce; daughters: Sheila Thornton and husband, Kip, and Janet Lee, all of Englewood, Colorado; sons: Jeffrey E. Lee and wife Deidra, of Larkspur, Colorado; and Gregory Lee and wife, Tanya, of Grand Jct., Colorado.

Grady had Eight grandchildren: Ryan Anderson, of Denver, Colorado; Kristopher Thornton, of Englewood, Colorado; Jessie Millison, of Aurora Colorado, Aaron Lee and wife Sheryl, of Castle Rock, Colorado; Holly Thornton Hall and husband, Sean, of Denver, Colorado; Kim Anderson Lydick and husband, Adam, of Bradenton, Florida; Chase Anderson and wife, Holly, of Aurora, Colorado; Jeffrey J. Lee and wife, Cindy, of Larkspur, Colorado; and Abby Lee, of Grand Jct., Colorado;

Five great-grandchildren: Peyton and Kinley Lydick of Bradenton, Florida; Hunter and Ayla Anderson of Aurora, Colorado; and McKenzie Lee, of Castle Rock, Colorado.

Grady also leaves two sisters, Dorothy Glenn and Glenda Robinson, both of Calera, Oklahoma, as well as, nieces, Becky Ballard and husband, Mark, of Flagler Beach, Florida; Debbie Luke and husband, Eddie, of Calera, Oklahoma; and Tonya Lee of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; nephews, Bill Lee and wife, Diane, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Tim Lee and wife, Susan, of West Columbia, South Carolina; and Randall Robinson, of Calera, Oklahoma.

Grady will be missed by a close sister-in-law, Frankie Story Cornelison, and sons, Tommy Story; Bobby Story and wife, Melissa; Keith Story and wife, Stacy; and daughter, Lisa Thomas, all of Durant, as well as many other family members, friends, and acquaintances in other areas around the country, as he is received into the presence of the Lord Jesus.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made through the East Side Baptist Church, 19901 E 78th Hwy, Independence, Missouri, 64057, for the ministry of Pastor J.D. Moses, in India, to complete the first floor of their new school building, which will be named “Rev. Grady E. Lee memorial School.” Pastor Lee has supported and promoted Bro. Moses’ Ministries Since 1978.
