Sheila Ann Freiley Ledford, 71, of Shawnee, Okla., passed away on February 19, 2025. Sheila was born in San Jose, Calif., on January 25, 1954. Sheila's family moved to Shawnee in 1970, the same year she met the love of her life, Joe Ledford. She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1972 and went on to Shawnee Beauty College to become a beautician. She then went back to school to become a medical secretary transcriptionist.
Sheila always said her greatest accomplishments were her husband, children, grandchildren, and schooling. She loved her some "Elvis Presley and Cher", and she collected hummingbirds. Joe and Sheila were married for 53 years and they loved riding motorcycles and going to the casinos together.
Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, JW "Red" and Earlie May Freiley; nephew, Sean Freiley; parents-in-law, Fred and Norma Ledford. Sheila is survived by her husband, Joe Ledford; daughter, Tanya (Danny) Vandeplas and children: Tristian (McKayla), Drake, Dutch Veitenheimer, Desiree; daughter, Lisa Henderson, and children: Alexis Henderson and Hope Harjo; sister, Rhonda (Ted) Smith, and children: Paul, Ken, Allison, Tommy; sister, Ardella (Poncho) Armstrong, and children: Emily, Dylan, Jaime; sister, Paulette (James) Karcher, and children: Adam and Tisha; stepbrother, Timmy Freiley; stepdad, James Freiley; sister-in-law, Cathy (Steve) Hopkins, and children: Steve and Denise Hopkins, Sara and Terry Qualls, Wade and Melissa Hopkins; brother-in-law, David (Becky) Ledford, and children: TJ and Tracy. Sheila was an amazing wife, mom and grandma.
She was loved so much by all. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 28, 2025, 11 a.m. at AE Funeral Services Chapel, 603 W. Independence St., Shawnee, OK 74804.
