Pryor
Matthew Thomas Ledbetter, born on February 21, 1972, in Pryor,
Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, November 1, 2024, in his hometown. He is
remembered as a dedicated and kind individual whose life touched many.
Matthew graduated from Vinita High School, providing him with the foundation a life characterized by hard work and commitment. He devoted several years to RCB Bank, where he undertook custodial work and embraced any other tasks that were entrusted to him.
He found great joy in his interests outside of work. He enjoyed attending the Presbyterian Church in Pryor, especially when he could share these moments with friends. Farming held a special place in his heart; he loved spending time riding tractors with his father, which fostered a deep connection to both the land and family.
Annual visits to the Mayes County Fair were significant events in Matthew's life, bringing together the excitement of community and celebration. His fondness for camping also provided him with opportunities to create lasting memories. Most of all, he loved the holidays, especially Christmas time and was well known for always having the yard decorated for everyone to enjoy.
He is survived by his mother, Norma Ledbetter, of Pryor, Oklahoma; his brother, Steven Ledbetter, also of Pryor; as well as his niece, Erin Ledbetter, and nephew, Seth Ledbetter. Matthew is preceded in death by his father, Brooks Ledbetter.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 8, 2024, at the First Christian Presbyterian Church in Pryor with Reverend Darlene Martinez and Reverend Anna Hubbard officiating.
