Jim Lawson, 77, of Ponca City, OK, passed away Friday evening at his home.

Jim was born on April 5, 1936 in Tryon, OK to Charles Handford and Rosa Mae Thompson Lawson.

Jim was a member of the graduating class of 1955 of Wellington High School, Wellington, KS. He was married to Judith Jacobs on November 6, 1955 in Ponca City. He had worked as a route delivery driver for Royal Crown Cola, Pepsi and Coca Cola. He was a security guard and a manager of security for Albertsons Warehouse for a number of years. He enjoyed woodworking and took great joy in crafting items for friends and strangers alike. He enjoyed yard work always willing to help his neighbors with anything they needed especially lawn mowing.

Jim is survived by his wife Judith, Son Kenneth Eugene Lawson of Topeka, KS, Sisters and Brother Yvonne Denny of OKC, Taletta McCraine of OKC, Tammy Morrison of Morrison, OK and Charles Lawson of Stillwater. Grandson Ryan Lawson, 2 Great Grandchildren Averie and Nash R. Lawson all of OKC.

Memorial services will be 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Word of Life Christian Center with Brother Bob Innis officiating
