Larry Preston LaVergne, was born May 5th, 2006 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Kalizza Thomas and Daniel LaVergne Jr. He was the 2nd of four children.
Larry transitioned from life to death on Tuesday February 8th, 2022 at the age of 15.
Larry attended Tecumseh Public Schools from Elementary to Middle School where he was very active in sports. Playing football, basketball, and running track.
Larry received Christ in April 2021 while attending a Men's Conference at Falls Creek. He attended The Sharon Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Clint Dawkins.
Larry was a humble young man, well respected in the community. He had a big heart, and was very quick to forgive others. In his free time, Larry enjoyed playing football, basketball, fishing, going to the library, and doing Tik Tok videos. Larry will be truly missed by his big beautiful smile that would just light up a room, and his friendly personality. Larry's goals in life were to be the BEST football and basketball player, to be a good son of God, and one day find his soulmate and get married.
Proceeding Larry in death; is his Paternal Great Grandparents Daniel LaVergne and Theresa LaVergne. His Maternal Great Grandparents William (Bill) and Tennie Bell.
Larry leaves his love and memories to be cherished by...His loving mother Kalizza Thomas of Tecumseh, Ok, His father Daniel LaVergne Jr of Lake Charles, Louisiana. 3 Siblings Ma'leek LaVergne of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Daniel LaVergne III, and MaKayla LaVergne both of Tecumseh, Ok. His loving grandmother Carletta (Jerry) Modugno. Grandfather Howard (Michelle) Russell of OKC. Grandfather Daniel LaVergne (Lakisha) Sr. of Atlanta, GA. Grandmother Yolanda Goodwin of Lake Charles, LA. Great Grandmother Emma Russel of OKC. 2 Loving Uncles Orlando Osborne, and Jerry Modugno Jr of Tecumseh, Ok. A loving and cherished Great Grandmother Bessie Thomas of Shawnee, Ok. Also a host of loving Grandfathers, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, friends, the Tecumseh Athletics Team, his Sharon Baptist Church family, and his dear friend and first football coach, Victor Cope.
Visitation will be 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2022 at Cooper Funeral Home. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Sharon Baptist Church, with Pastor Clint Dawkins officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
