Saundra Faye Lauppe, daughter of Arnold and Anna Mae (Schamburg) Sweet, was born January 3, 1945, in Fullerton, California. She departed this life on September 3, 2015 at the age of 70 years.
Sandy grew up mostly in the Enid area and graduated from Enid High School in the Class of 1963. She married Alan Roberts and a daughter, Ginger Ann, was born. She married Donald Reid and a daughter, Dawn Michelle, and a son, Sandon K., added to the family. After Don's death, she married Darrell Lauppe and two daughters, Heather Elizabeth and Rebekah Gailyn, and two sons, Joshua Christian and Shane Patrick, completed the family.
Through the years, Sandy was afforded many opportunities. After unexpectedly becoming a single mother, Sandy went back to college, graduated, and became an accountant. One of her greatest prides was in the foster children she cared for over the years. Across several states, Sandy fed, bathed, clothed, and sheltered well over 100 foster children, all of them infants and toddlers. In later years, she was able to dedicate more time and effort to the genealogy that was a great passion for her. While a certified genealogist, Sandy traveled extensively to many cemeteries across the Plains as well as in Europe, tracing and preserving family history.
Though Sandy lived in many states throughout the years, she recently returned and settled in Woodward. She greatly enjoyed her time working at United grocery store and was blessed by being close to home again.
Sandy is preceded in death by a husband, Donald Reid, her father, Arnold Sweet, and a great granddaughter, Esther Marie Velez.
Left to remember her are: her mother, Anna Mae Sweet of Vici, OK; two brothers and their wives, Neil and Patty Sweet, of Mutual, OK and Gary and Theresa Sweet, of Woodward, OK; seven children, Ginger (David) Massey of Woodward, OK; Dawn Michelle (Efcel) Velez of Goldsboro, NC; Sandon (Angie) Reid of PA; Heather Lauppe of Pelham, AL; Joshua Lauppe and Rebekah Lauppe of Alabaster, AL; and Shane Lauppe of Camp Lejeune, NC; 11 grandchildren and 5 living great-grandchildren. Sandy also had two dear, special friends, Ernie Wise and Samantha Gandy, who loved and supported her greatly.
