Karen "Sue" (Williams) Laughlin

Karen "Sue" Laughlin, of Blackwell, Oklahoma, passed away on January 28, 2016, in the Northwest Specialty Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma, at the age of 73 years. Karen "Sue" Laughlin was born on April 7, 1942, in Neal, Kansas, to Clyde "Buddy" and Gladys (Nelson) Williams. One of thirteen children, five sisters and seven brothers, she grew up in Neal and attended school in Piedmont, Kansas.

At the age of seventeen she married Jerry Nichols of Eureka, Kansas, and to this union were three sons. Later in life she married Doug Eddings and together they had a daughter. She later settled in Blackwell where she worked as a secretary for Cox Cable Company. While in Blackwell she found in 1999, the love of her life and soul mate, Bobby Joe Laughlin and they married that year. She loved dancing, winning at the casinos and watching daily soap operas with Bobby Joe. Another great enjoyment came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Joe Laughlin of Blackwell; three sons, Alex Nichols and wife Penny of Roanoke, Texas, Jamie Nichols and wife Kerri of Ponca City, and Dan White of California; a daughter, Ashley Tinsman and husband Corey of Denton, Texas; three sisters, Dolores Ashlock and Erma Sherman of Eureka, Kansas, and Marge Whitehall of Belfair, Washington; four brothers, Bill Williams and Bob Williams of Eureka, Kansas, Grover Williams of Searchlight, Nevada, and Melvin "Butch" Williams of Stroud, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Brandon, Hanna, Cole and Lane Nichols, Hannah White, Braden Eddings, Ashton Blessing, and Madison and Rayne Tinsman; and great grandchildren, Micallen, Henley, Aldan and Emalynn Nichols.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Maxine Wilson and Melba Pugh; and three brothers, Cecil, Johnnie and Donnie Williams.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 6th in the Roberts and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Blackwell with Rev. John Newland of Blackwell officiating.

The grandchildren and great grandchildren of Sue Laughlin will serve as honorary casketbearers.

A memorial has been established in her honor with the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for lung research in c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W. Padon, Blackwell, Oklahoma 74631.
