On Tuesday, October 22nd, 2019, Lou Ann (Wilson) Largent, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many passed away in her home at the age of 79. Lou Ann was born on July 4th, 1940 in the Elk City Community Hospital to Hattie Theresa (Kopecek) Wilson and Olen John Wilson.
Lou Ann grew up on the family farm in the Delhi Community. She attended school at Delhi and graduated in 1958. During her senior year, she married her husband, Ronald Largent. After graduation from high school, she and her husband attended Sayre Jr. College, and Central State College, graduating in 1962. Lou Ann was a teacher, and loved working with young people. She began her career as a teacher in the public school system, and then later became the director of the Upward Bound Program on campus at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She held that position for many years until her retirement.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Billy Joe Wilson.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald, of the home; son, Jace Largent, and wife, Sarah, Piedmont, Ok.; 2 grandchildren, Brody Largent, and Hattie Largent, Piedmont, Ok., and a host of relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 31st at 10:30 at the Sayre First Baptist Church officiated by Pete Parker.
