George Lankford passed from this life on August 17, 2020 in Antlers, Oklahoma. He was born on August 20, 1938 to Wesley Lankford and Glady (Jones) Lankford in Antlers, where he'd spend all of his 81 years.
George married Martha Songer on May 14, 1959 in Hugo, Oklahoma, and they made their home in Antlers. He enjoyed passing his time wagon riding and camping.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Wesley and Gladys Lankford; brothers: Buddy Lankford and Melton Lankford; and sisters: Annamae Hale and Mary Ann Durrett.
George leaves behind his loving wife: Martha Lankford of the home; children: Raymond Lankford and wife Marsha of Antlers, Oklahoma, and Leah Ann Lankford and husband Carl of Finley, Oklahoma; brothers: James Lankford of Antlers, Oklahoma and Cary Lankford of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sisters: Audrey Hubbard of Redding, California and Lola Turner of Leesville, Louisiana; grandchildren: Melissa Hembree and husband Cody of Antlers, Oklahoma, and Randy Lankford of Antlers, Oklahoma; great-granddaughter: Kaylee Hembree of Antlers, Oklahoma; great nieces: Ryan Hopson and husband Jesse of Moyers, Oklahoma, Macy Toon and husband Lane of Smithville, Oklahoma, and Michelle Smith of Ada, Oklahoma; great great nephews: Jakoby Hopson and Kauhlin Hopson; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
A celebration of George's life will be held Saturday at 2PM at the Rebel Hill Guest Ranch Pavillion.
Cremation services have been entrusted with Serenity Funeral Service of Antlers, Oklahoma.
