Sammy DeWayne Laney, age 34 of Purcell, passed away Friday, August 22, 2014 at Baptist Integris Hospital in OKC. Sammy was born December 31, 1980 in Purcell, Oklahoma. He was the son of Sampson Earl Laney Jr. and Carla Pauline Riggle. Sammy grew up in Lexington and attended the Lexington Schools. After school, he began working in general construction with his step dad, Glenn Henderson Jr. Sammy enjoyed his work, and loved just being outdoors. He especially enjoyed camping and fishing with his family and friends. Sammy had a very outgoing personality and he never met a stranger. He was the proud father of 2 sons, Dakota and Isaiah. He will be dearly missed!
He was preceded in death by: His grandparents, Robert & Nettie Riggle, Grandmother, Patricia Logan, Grandfather, Earl Laney, Aunt, Belinda Laney;
Sammy leaves behind: Two sons, Dakota and Isaiah of Norman; His mother, Carla Riggle of Purcell; His father, Sam Laney and wife Reneau of OKC; Step-father, Glenn Henderson Jr. of Noble; 2 sisters, Candice Laney of Purcell and Olivia McDonald of Noble; 2 step sisters, Ashley D. Sharon and Sarah N. Logan both of OKC; Grandfather, Leonard Steve Logan of Winder, GA; Aunt, Claudette Brumitt of OKC; 2 uncles, Robert Riggle of Purcell and Kenneth Logan of Winder, GA; Several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
Memorial Services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Thursday, August 28, 2014, at the Landmark Church in Purcell. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
