The services celebrating and honoring the life of Larry Jay Lane, 67, of Enid, will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday February 5, 2021 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Terry Lane officiating. Complete cremation care and services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Larry Jay was born June 8, 1953 to Billy Joe Lane and Flossie Melinda (Farris) Lane in Tulsa, Oklahoma and passed from this life January 31, 2021 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He was raised and educated in Wynona and traveled to Montana frequently following his father’s company. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy for two years. He returned to Wynona after his service to the U.S to help in his father’s septic business. He married the love of his life Janice Vee Cummings in 1974 in Pawhuska. The couple moved to Enid in 1989 where he began his septic business "BJ Septic", that his sons continue to operate to this day. He began working as a painter in later years. He was always a very hard worker and enjoyed wood craftsmanship. He was great with his hands and could do and fix absolutely anything. He enjoyed fishing and most of all he loved his grandchildren.
His family was always his priority. He was a man of true character, always kept his word and always willing to help others.
He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Janice Lane, of the home, two sons Robbie James Lane and his wife Ana Laura, of Enid, and Bobby Jay Lane and his wife Karie Dawn, of Enid, one daughter Lori Ann Winkler and her husband Patrick Ryan of Enid; grandchildren Garrett Jay Lane, Madison Ana Lane, Shania Marie Lane, Halie Shae Milford, Wyatt James Lane, Connor Ryan Winkler, Sadie Lane Winkler, Jayse Thomas Winkler; sisters Mary Jo, Debbie, and Aline; one brother Terry, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Carrie and Sherry; and one brother Billy.
