Una Belle Landes

Una Belle Landes
November 27, 1921 ~ December 25, 2017

Una Belle Landes, 96, of Bartlesville, died Monday in Bartlesville.

Una Belle was born the youngest of four children to her beloved parents on Nov. 27, 1921, in Ewing, Nebraska. She graduated from Gordon High School in 1940 and soon after married her first husband of 43 years Wendell Lein. They raised six children on the family farm in rural Gordon. Once the children were grown she furthered her education earning her Licensed Practical Nurse certification in Alliance, NE, in 1971. She worked in both the hospital and nursing homes and enjoyed working in obstetrics (OB) the best. Wendell preceded her in death in 1984; Una Belle then married Joseph Ireland and they shared 17 years together. They enjoyed volunteering as caretakers of the Church of God campground in Cozad, NE, but eventually moved to Bartlesville to be near her children. Joseph preceded her in 2005. Una Belle was lucky enough to meet and marry Vernon Leon Landes in 2006. Over their 11 years together, they enjoyed camping and traveling, locally with the Wheels and Reels camping club, and they took many memorable trips together including one special trip to Hawaii.

Una Belle loved crafts and was gifted at crocheting, making many gifts for her family and friends. She loved her family and taking care of grandkids. Over the years she was a faithful member of the Church of God.

Una Belle is survived by her husband Vernon of the home; five children, Marcia Munkirs and Paul of Bartlesville, Dale Lein and Kaye of Bartlesville, Neal Lein and Cindy of Casper, WY, Kelvin Lein and Robyn of Omaha, NE, and Janeice Lynch and Troy of Newcastle, WY; as well as Vern's children, Sharon Justus and Robert of Bartlesville, Brenda Morrison and John of Carthage, MO, and Donna Mickelson and Kurtis of Falkville, AL; 16 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one daughter Clarinda Belle Lein, one brother Lowell Van Briggle, and two sisters Everal Fauske and Mary Hartman.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10-8, Una Belle's family will receive friends at the Davis Family Funeral Home, 918-534-3030, 113 S. Osage (Hwy. 75), Dewey, on Thursday, December 28, from 6-8 p.m. In Lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Nowata 10-33 fund.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at Nowata First Church of God. Interment will be in the Gordon Cemetery in Gordon, NE. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home.
