James Wilford "Jim" Lambke

James Wilford "Jim" Lambke
July 31, 1929 ~ August 28, 2021

James (Jim) W. Lambke was born July 31, 1929, in Amorita, Oklahoma, to Ruby (Jones) and Carl Lambke.

He grew up in Manchester, Oklahoma, and graduated from Manchester High School in 1947. On June 1, 1948, Jim married his high school sweetheart, Margaret Engel. In 1951 Jim obtained a Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Southwestern University in Weatherford, Oklahoma. They lived in Cherokee and Ponca City before settling down in Enid, Oklahoma, in 1962 where they built their dream home. He was a proud Pharmacist and had fond memories of his time at Evans Drug. Then, in 1978, Jim opened his own independent pharmacy, Lambke Springs Pharmacy.

Jim loved serving the community and was also involved as an active member of Central Christian Church and Rotary and supported many local causes. Jim and Margaret loved raising their two girls in Enid and enjoyed dining and dancing with friends. Jim loved the great outdoors and made land purchases to enjoy his hunting and fishing hobbies. Jim trained bird dogs and was always thrilled to take friends and family hunting while Margaret made the cabin warm and inviting for their annual fall party.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Groves (late husband Chuck) of Edmond, Oklahoma; granddaughters Coby Wells (Luke) of Lubbock, Texas, and Blake Sadler (Josh) of Dallas, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Walker Wells and Kinsley Wells of Lubbock, Texas, Shayne, Addison, Preston, and Griffin of Dallas, TX; daughter, Coni Craig (Mike) of Sarasota, Florida: granddaughter, Chandler Baker (Rob) of Austin, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Elliott Baker and Colin Baker of Austin, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother and his wife, Margaret. They were blessed to be married 68 years.

Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
