A memorial service for Ellen Beulah Bufford Lambert, 90, of Blackwell, will be 10 a.m. Friday at First Free Will Baptist Church, Blackwell. The Rev. Kevin Bookout will officiate. Arrange-ments are by Dugger Funeral Home, Blackwell.
She was born Sept. 11, 1915, in Labette County, Kan., to Jesse E. and Elsie Ware Westervelt and died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006, at Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home, Blackwell.
She was educated in Altamont, Kan., where she graduated from high school. Her first job was working on a farm as a cream separator after school. She was a khaki press operator at Blackwell Laundry, a products saleswoman, pie baker at Wichita school, caretaker of children in Wichita during World War II, a nurse aide at Blackwell Hospital and Tonkawa Nursing Home, head cook at Alpha II in Tonkawa for four years, cook�s helper at Northern Oklahoma College and a seamstress.
She attended First Free Will Baptist Church in Blackwell.
Surviving are one son, Roland "Butch" Bufford Jr. of Tonkawa; four daughters, Shirley Hansen and Ilene Epley, both of Wichita, Louise Byers of Tonkawa and Cathy Pendleton of Blackwell; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four husbands, Harold Walker, Arthur White, Roland Bufford Sr. and Gene Lambert; a stepdaughter; one sister; and a grandson. Condolences may be made online at www.duggerfuneralhome.com.
