Nancy Lamberson, age 74 of Newcastle, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at the Integris Southwest Medical Center in OKC. Nancy Carolyn East was born October 9, 1938 in Arkoma, OK, the 3rd child of 4 born to Milton Alonzo East Sr. and Genevieve Della (Caudle) East. She was raised primarily in Monett, MO and attended school there, graduating from Monett High school in 1956.
She later met and married Ralph Lamberson in 1958, and together they raised a daughter, Teresa. In her younger years, she worked in the banking business and later as secretary, from her home, alongside her husband, in their home based insurance company. She retired after more than 20 years of dedicated service. Throughout her life, Nancy has lived in Kentucky, Missouri and Oklahoma. She retired to Newcastle in 2003 to be close to her daughter and family. Nancy was a devoted Christian. She spent countless hours reading her bible and greatly enjoyed old time gospel singing. For the past 13 years, Nancy has faithfully served at the First Baptist Church in Newcastle. Nancy cherished her family and especially looked forward to babysitting her grandson, Tyler.
She was preceded in death by: Her parents, Milton Sr., and Genevieve East and Her sister, Beverly Webb.
Nancy leaves behind: Her daughter, Teresa Hopper and husband Robert of Newcastle; Her grandson, Tyler Hopper of Newcastle; Her sister, Pat Nicholson and husband Larry of Buffalo, MO; Her brother, Milton East Jr. and wife Salem of Tulsa, OK; Her good friend, Carl Vanderburg of Newcastle and A host of other family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service has been scheduled for 11:30 A.M. Saturday, July 27, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Newcastle. Arrangements by Wilson-Little of Newcastle.
