Albert Vernon Lacy

May 14, 1925 ~ May 22, 2011

Albert Vernon Lacy, a Coalgate resident, passed away May 22, 2011 in Durant, OK at the age of 86. He was born May 14, 1925 in Muskogee, OK to John and Laura (Kent) Lacy and attended Coalgate schools. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps, a member of the VFW Post #1198, a member of the Disabled Veterans Post in Atoka and a member of the Local #12 Operating Engineer, Los Angles, CA. He was also a member of the Cottonwood Baptist Church. Mr. Lacy worked oil field offshore. On May 14, 1988 he married Nelma Louise English in Coalgate.

Survivors include his wife Nelma Lacy of the home in Coalgate; children, Laura Maxwell of Stillwell, Patrick Lacy of Corpus Christi, TX, Alfred Lacy of Houston of Houston, TX, John Tyler of Dallas, TX, George Lacy of Warsaw, MO and Jerry Lacy of California., MO; brother, Marshall Lacy of Modesto, CA along with numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Nelly Ervin, Betty Holland and Henryetta Dawson.
