July 24, 1941 ~ August 5, 2020 (age 79)

Sharel Lackey, 79, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at her home.

She was born July 24, 1941 in Santa Ana, California to Glen and Erma Fay Ream.

Sharel was raised in Santa Ana, California and graduated from Santa Ana High School.

She met Carl Nelson Lackey in Santa Ana at Oscars Drive In. They were married on February 29, 1964 in Santa Ana, California. He preceded her in death on December 7, 2018. They raised their family in Bakersfield, California and upon retirement moved back to Oklahoma and settled in the Tecumseh area.

Sharel worked as a hair dresser and at a bakery. She was an excellent cook and made the best pecan pies, fried chicken and okie enchiladas. She was a collector of antiques, better known as a “Junker”.

She was preceded in death by husband, Carl Lackey; and her parents.

Sharel is survived by her son, Gregory Lackey of Tecumseh; 3 grandchildren, Jessica and Frank Damron of Bakersfield, CA, Vicki Lackey of Bakersfield, CA and Greg, Jr. and Ashley Lackey of Bethel Acres, OK; great-grandchildren, Branson Damron, Eastlynn Damron, Brooklynn Damron, Sutton Baker, Gavin Lackey, and Gunner; and many loving friends and extended family.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 13, 2020 and continue through service time. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 14, 2020 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Larry Townsend, Bethel Acres Assembly officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh. Please join the celebration of Sharel’s life through Cooper Funeral Home’s Facebook page for live streaming of the service. Services will conclude at the chapel.
