Marie Iona Kupka was born April 14, 1927 in Canute, Oklahoma to Martha and Frank Strobel. She passed away September 6, 2015 at Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years, 4 months and 22 days.
Marie grew up in the St. Francis community and attended St. Francis schools. After leaving school she worked for the Scheidemantel family cleaning house and doing laundry along with working on her family's farm. She was married to Edward Joseph Kupka at St. Francis Church on June 25, 1946. After their… marriage, they moved to Texas for a short period of time before returning to Canute to make their home. Marie was a homemaker and took pride in raising her children and supporting her husband as a carpenter and a handyman. She also enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking fried chicken and coconut cake.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son, Leon Kupka.
She is survived by her son, Donald W. Kupka and wife, Darlene, Agra, OK; 3 grandchildren, Amy Williams, Darla Sloan and husband, Jason and Kimberly Coon and husband, Danny; 3 great grandchildren, Harley Jean Williams, Cale Samuel Sloan and Cullen Jase Sloan; daughter-in-law, Dee Luttrell; 1 brother, Leo Strobel and a host of other relatives and friends.
