Evelyn Jane Hayes Krug was born in Twin Lakes Township, Calhoun County, Iowa on February 13, 1921, and departed this life in Stroud, Oklahoma on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at the age of 94.
Evelyn was the daughter of John Winfred and Jennie Marie Jager Hayes.
She was a resident of Rockwell City until she moved to Stroud in 1992.
She graduated from Rockwell City High School in 1938. She was the accountant at the Iowa Women's Reformatory for 23 years.
She married Lyle Krug in Rockwell City on April 26, 1940. They met at a dance at Twin Lakes and continued dancing for many years. They farmed near Lake City and Rockwell City for many years before retiring in Rockwell City.
She was active in 4-H work and the Calhoun County Historical Society for many years.
Evelyn was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lyle, in 1987, two brothers, Orin Hayes and Earl Hayes, and one sister, Mavis Barber.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Janell and Scott Dial of Stroud, Oklahoma, Karen Osborne of Stroud; sisters, Vivian Hildreth of Alta, Iowa and Olivine Cue of Fort Dodge, Iowa; grandchildren, Valerie Patterson and Neil Parish, Alicia Vosberg and Douglas Dumlao, Ryan and Angela Dial, Aaron and Emily Dial and Allicyn and Christopher Farris; great-grandchildren, Heather Franco, McKinley Patterson, Jeffrey Patterson, Logan Patterson, Nichole Dial, Caden Dial, Adelyn Dial, Brooks Dickinson and Evelyn Farris.
