Mary Vandesteene Krow, former resident of Otisville, Michigan and current resident of Ralston, Oklahoma, passed Saturday, April 27, 2013 at her home in the arms of her husband. She was 56 years of age.
Mary was born February 18, 1957 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Robert K. Vandesteene and Maureen J. (Morrow) Vandesteene. She graduated from LakeVille High School in 1975. She continued her studies and received a bachelor's degree in education and taught kindergarten.
Mary married Don Krow on May 13, 2006, and they both actively traveled and shared the Word of God through his ministry to various countries, Africa, India, Pakistan and the Philippines.
She is survived by her husband, Don, of the home; one son, Steven Krow; two daughters, Vita Yelinski and Vickie DeKemper; her mother, Jackie Vandesteene of Davison, Michigan; eight brothers and sisters, Dianne and Max Hayes, Ron and Linda Vandesteene, Cathy Vandesteene Martin, Bob and Cindy Vandesteene, Ellen Vandesteene Wigard, David and Kimberley Vandesteene, Rick Vandesteene and Dan and Kelly Vandesteene; 17 nieces and nephews; 14 great nieces and nephews; her mother-in-law, Alice Krow Omtvedt and sister-in-law, Cecelia Krow McGuire and husband, Harvey, all of Ralston; Mary also leaves behind her two lovable dogs, Buddy and Mollie. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert K. Vandesteene.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at St. Johns Church in Davison, Michigan, Monday, June 10, 2013 at 11 a.m. Visitation with family will be one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Mary's memory to Don Krow Ministries, P.O. Box 150, Ralston, Oklahoma 74650. This Christian organization helps in building houses for the poor families in Jamaica and Haiti.
