Ernest “Dan” Kretzschmar

July 10, 1931 ~ October 23, 2005

Services for Ernest “Dan” Kretzschmar, 74, of Thackerville, were held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 26, in the Clement-Keel Funeral Home Chapel, Gainesville, Texas, with Bro. Murray McMurray officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville.

Born July 10, 1931, at Gainesville, the son of Ernest and Mary Harper Kretzschmar, he died Sunday, October 23, 2005, at his residence.

A veteran of the Korean conflict, Mr. Kretzschmar served in the U.S. Air Force. He is a retired farmer, and also retired with over 24 years with Weber Aircraft, working as a machinist. He and Rebecca Mathews were married August 23, 2003, at Gainesville.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Kretzschmar of Thackerville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Danny Ray and Mary Kretzschmar, Dennis Ivan and Linda Kretzschmar, and Charles and Kelley Kretzschmar, all of Thackerville; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Samuel Kretzschmar of Lewisville, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three wives, Virginia Kretzschmar, Ruby Kretzschmar and Clara Kretzschmar; a brother, Bobby Kretzschmar; and a daughter, Donna Kretzschmar.

Pallbearers were his grandsons.
