Memorial Mass for Fr. Larry Kowalski will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph Irwin and The Rev. Michael Wheelahan will be celebrants.
Inurnment will be in Transformation Cemetery in West Hazelton, Pa.
Lawrence was born July 10, 1937, to Joseph and Helen Lulig Kowalski and entered into eternal life January 10, 2014.
Fr. Larry received his education at Transfiguration High School, West Hazelton, Pa., Penn State University, University of Wisconsin, St. Mary's Seminary and Conception Seminary. He was ordained November 1, 1969.
His assignments for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City included associate pastor, Blessed Sacrament Church, Lawton; associate pastor, St. Francis Xavier Church, Enid; pastor, Sacred Heart Church, Alva, with missions of Our Mother of Mercy Church, Waynoka; chaplain, Mount St. Mary High School, Oklahoma City; associate pastor, St. John the Baptist Church, Edmond; chaplain, Central State University; pastor, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Sterling, with missions of Mother of Sorrows Church, Apache, and St. Ann Church, Elgin; pastor, Holy Family Church, Lawton; pastor, St. Catherine Church, Pauls Valley, and St. Peter Church, Lindsay; and pastor, St. Gregory the Great, Enid, with mission of St. Michael Church, Goltry. Father Larry retired June 1, 2011.
He is survived by a sister, Patricia Chandler and husband, Joseph, Slatington, Pa.; brother, Ray Kowalski, Wallingford, Pa.; and nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.
