Rosena Wilhelmina Caroline (Kroeschen) Koester
August 10, 1920 ~ July 28, 2012 (age 91)

Rosena Wilhelmina Caroline Koester passed away on July 27.  She was born in Glensted, Missouri on August 10, 1920, the youngest of eleven children of farm parents Adolph and Augusta Nolte Kroeschen.

She married Martin Koester in Stover, Missouri, on August 18, 1940, in a double ceremony with another couple at St. Paul's Lutheran Church..  They moved to Independence, Missouri, in 1942, where for many years she helped her husband run their automotive service business.  She also served for over ten years as a volunteer at the Truman Library in Independence. After Martin's death in 1982, she moved to Norman, Oklahoma, where she lived until her death.  

She is survived by her daughter, Patty Smith of Norman, by son Russell, of Atlanta, two grandchildren Timothy, of Maryland and Brian of Tennessee, and two great-grandchildren, Wesley and Zachary, both of Tennessee.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2448 E. 81st Street Suite 3000, Tulsa, OK 74137-4250.
