Bartlesville - Oliver Allen Kocher, age 88, of Bartlesville, passed from this life Friday, September 17, 2021 at his home.
Memorial services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, September 23, 2021 in the Adams Boulevard Church of Christ with Pastor, Aaron Kirkpatrick officiating.
Oliver Kocher was born May 15, 1933 at home to the late Frank and Goldie Yarlett, Kocher in rural Chautauqua County, KS. He received his elementary education in country schools and attended Sedan High School, graduating in 1951. He attended Coffeyville Junior College graduating in 1953. He served in the United States Army from December, 1953 to December, 1955 receiving an Honorable Discharge. He married Marjorie L. Cooper on January 8, 1956 and established their home in Coffeyville, Kansas. In August 1956, they moved to Pittsburg, Kansas and He enrolled at Pittsburg State College, graduating in May, 1958 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. After graduation, he worked a brief time on the Management Trainee Program for Montgomery Ward. In February, 1960, he was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville, retiring in 1986. Oliver was a long-time member of the Adams Blvd. Church of Christ; serving as a Deacon and Elder. He was a dedicated worker in World Bible School.
Oliver is survived by his wife, Marjorie, of Bartlesville, Two sons, Scott Kocher and his wife Teresa of Topeka, Kansas, Anthony Kocher of Bartlesville. Two grandchildren Rachel, and Joshua Kocher. One Great Granddaughter, Mia. He was preceded in death by a young son, Michael, his parents, and four siblings.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established and those who wish to make a contribution in memorial of Oliver Kocher may do so to: World Bible School, c/o Adams Blvd. Church of Christ, 3700 S.E. Adams Blvd., Bartlesville, OK 74006.
