Marilyn Louise Kobriger, 72, of Bartlesville, died Monday in Bartlesville.
Marilyn was born the daughter of George and Dorothy (Meyer) Edwin on Sept. 23, 1943, in Lake Mills, IA. She was raised on the family farm and left school early due to the measles, but later earned her GED. She married Donald Kingman and although they later divorced, two beautiful daughters were born to this union. Marilyn and her good friend Opal Peterson opened and operated their own Maid Rite Cafe' for several years. By chance she met Kenneth Kobriger while running errands with her friend. Kenneth fell in love with Marilyn and her two daughters, and they were united in marriage on Nov. 28, 1973, in South Dakota. In 1976 they moved to Owatonna, MN, where they lived and worked for the next 30 years. During that time, she managed a Kwik Trip and worked for Jostens Jewelry. In 2006 they both retired and moved to Bartlesville to be near Marilyn's sister Edie.
Marilyn was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved lively music and played the accordion and organ in a polka band out of Garner, IA. She was artistic and enjoyed crafts, particularly painting and decorating the many wood items Kenneth would build out of wood. Over the years, she looked forward to traveling in the many different motorhomes they owned, and most recently, going out to eat at her favorite breakfast restaurant Eggbert's. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband Kenneth of the home; two daughters, Debbie Kingland and her husband Fran Tomaskefski of Bloomsburg, PA, and Jody Kingland of St. Cloud, MN; one sister Lois Low and Gene; three grandchildren, Randy Schroader, Ashley Schroader and Rachelle Schroader; three great grandchildren, Tabitha Troup, Ayden Rivera and Mahaley Schroader; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Darlene Rayman and Edie Taylor.
