The funeral service for Bertie Lou Kitchen, 71 year-old Enid resident, is 3:30 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019, in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Gary Miller officiating. Burial will be held privately at a later date.

Bertie was born December 31, 1947, at home in Jefferson, Oklahoma, to Elmer and Alice (Combs) Meritt, and died Monday, December 31, 2018, at St. Mary's in Enid.

She attended Jefferson and Pond Creek schools, graduating with the class of 1967.

She worked as a rehabilitation specialist at NORCE (formerly Enid State School) for over 20 years.

She is survived by her four children, Rhonda Bradley, Enid, Robin Kitchen and Roni Kitchen, both of the home, and Randy Kitchen, Enid; nine grandchildren, Shelby, Courtney, Faith, Dylan, Rylan, Tyler, Skylan, Camdyn, and Serenity.

Also, one sister and four brothers; and numerous other special family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson Zachery, three sisters, one brother, three half-brothers and a half-sister.

Memorials may be made to Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
