Carl Dean Kirk, was born to Anna Lee and Alonzo Kirk on October 24th, 1951. He was born at the Guymon Memorial Hospital, and was delivered by Dr. Oxley. Dr. Oxley assisted in the delivery of his twins, Austin and Tyler, some 35 years later.
Carl grew up and attended 12 years of school in Texhoma, Oklahoma. He was a dedicated Guymon Public School Bus Drivers for over 11 years, rarely missing a day, always willing to drive teams for multi-day long distance events. Students appreciated his humor and positivity.
Carl is survived by his wife of 40 years, Christine Kirk. They made their home in Guymon in 1984. Carl worked for United Meat Market and Seaboard Foods both for many years. Carl is survived by three sons: Nathan Kirk of Amarillo, Texas, Austin Kirk of Denver, Colorado and Tyler Kirk of Boston, Massachusetts. Carl is also survived by brother Ron Kirk and wife Lela of Dallas, Texas.
He was preceded in death by both parents, and two brothers: Larry Kirk and Dion Kirk.
Carl was known for his love of the Texas Longhorns. Carl was a very fun loving person. He loved life and he always had a joke or something funny to say on the tip of his tongue. He traveled frequently visiting almost every state in the United States, traveling to Argentina to visit son, Austin, seeing Italy, and taking a river cruise in Europe, up the Danube River and Rhine River. Carl will be missed by many, but we rest easy in our hearts knowing he is still entertaining many with his quick wit and humor.
Carl passed away on April, 12, 2023, in his home in Guymon at the age of 71. He has been cremated and his ashes will be spread in his favorite locations by his family.
