Troy Glynn King

Troy Glynn King
January 30, 1928 ~ July 30, 2020

Troy Glynn King left his world peacefully and joined family members waiting for him in heaven on July 30, 2020. He was the last survivor of 11 children.

He served in the Navy, graduated from Texas Tech, was a supervisor at Western Electric and became a real estate broker. He had numerous hobbies, including golf and fishing. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy and Texas Longhorn fan. He loved westerns, especially John Wayne! He became a Christian in his 20s and went on to serve as a deacon and elder at Village and Quail Springs Church of Christ. One of his greatest accomplishments was starting a bus ministry that helped numerous children hear about God’s love and the story of Jesus.

He absolutely loved his family unconditionally. We will remember him as supportive and proud of anything and everything his kids, grandkids and great grandkids participated in. He was generous, funny and one of the most positive and encouraging dads you could hope for. He will be missed by so many, but we have the assurance that he is waiting for us and will meet us at the pearly gates saying, “Hot Dog - I’ve been waiting for you!”

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Hazle, son, TG King, Jr., daughter Georgia Wallace and husband Chris, daughter Nycke White and husband Steve, six grandsons - Cory White, Nathan Wallace, Clent White and wife Courtney, Bryan Troy Wallace and wife Erica, Casey White and Alex Wallace and wife Liz. He has 11 great grandchildren, Jordan White, Lilah Wallace, Cash Wallace, Khloe Wallace, Cohen White, Myles Wallace, Trinity Wallace, Violette Wallace, Raelynn Wallace, Oliver Wallace and Eleanor Wallace. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a special great grandniece, Shelby King.

There will be a private family gathering to celebrate his life and another celebration with numerous family members in his hometown, Plainview, Tx. There will be a viewing Monday, August 3, from 4:00-5:00 at Buchanan Funeral Home (8712 N Council Rd, Oklahoma City).

In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation in his name to Proton Pals Foundation. He was a founding donor and gave to this charity regularly to help children and adults who are going through proton therapy for cancer treatment. Donations can be made to Proton Pals Foundation at P. O. Box 721079, Oklahoma City, OK 73172 or online at www.protonpalsfoundation.org.
