Celebration of Life Service for Monte King, 62 of Enid, will be Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 6:00 pm in Oakwood Christian Church with Reverend Alan Seibel officiating. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at the funeral home.
Monte was born on November 17, 1957 in Enid, Oklahoma to Alfred and Edith "Corky" (Palmer) King and died on January 18, 2020 in Oklahoma City.
He grew up in Garber and worked for many years as a chef in the area restaurants and nursing facilities. Monte enjoyed taking care of people. He was a member of Oakwood Christian Church.
Monte was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Donnie Nagel, Mahlon King and Myron King; two sisters, Lori Carter and Debi Chaney.
He is survived by his best friend of 35 years, who saw him thru many trials and tribulations and shared his hilarious sense of humor, Rudy Springer; friends from childhood, Bruce and Melodie Cecil; brothers and their wives, Randy and Lori King, Darrin and Natalie Nagel, and Devin and Angie Nagel; sister, Kathy Ramsey; brother-in-law, Mike Chaney; sister-in-law, Kay King; bonus family, Sharon and Dean Cornforth, Ron (Edy) Griffith, Rick (Anna) Griffith, Linda (Steve) McGee, Jay (Misty) Cornforth, Jamie (Kim) Cornforth, Josh (Courtney) Morse, Jake Cornforth, Holly (Nate) Willson; godsons, Griffith, Rylan, Ethan, Grey; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
