Joan Walton King

April 14, 1941 ~ August 18, 2025

Joan Walton King, age 84, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025. She was born on April 14, 1941, in Fleming County, Kentucky, to the late Nola and Shelton Emmons.

Joan grew up in Flemingsburg, Kentucky, where she attended school and built lifelong friendships. On December 11, 1960, she married the love of her life, Alva King. Together, they shared 64 wonderful years of marriage and raised three sons, Brian, Keith, and Eric. Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alva, and remained devoted to his memory.

As a military wife, Joan embraced the adventure of traveling with her family, both across the United States and overseas. No matter where life took them, Joan’s greatest joy was her family, and she poured her heart into being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was known for her sharp wit and ornery sense of humor that could brighten anyone’s day. Joan loved murder mystery shows, fishing, and cheering on her favorite NASCAR drivers. She had a gift for storytelling, often spending hours on the phone with family and friends, sharing hilarious tales that left everyone laughing.

Joan’s warmth, laughter, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She leaves behind her sons, Brian, Keith, and Eric; her six grandchildren; as well as extended family members and countless friends whose lives she touched with her humor and kindness.
