Dolores Kimbley, age 90, died at 6:05 p.m. on September 6, 2018 at her home in Bartlesville. She was born September 30, 1927 to George and Hazel Codding of rural Dewey, Oklahoma. They had three children: Dolores, Glen and Bobby. She was raised in the Copan, OK vicinity and graduated from Copan Public Schools.
She married Wiley Scott of Caney, KS in 1943. They had three children: Glenda, Duane and Connie Jane. They were divorced in 1965.
Dolores married Burl Kimbley of Bartlesville in 1966. Burl had three children: Kenny, Janet and Tom. They were married for 47 years before Burl passed away.
She loved to dance and was so proud of both brothers for their musical talents. She liked reading fiction romance novels, playing cards with friends, hosting family gatherings and just spending time with family. Dolores loved to shop- craft festivals, malls, Walmart- she just liked to shop.
She worked at Plaza IGA for a few years and also worked many years at Dan's Service Paint Store in Bartlesville until she retired in 2003.
Dolores was an active member of Rosehill Community Baptist Church for many years. She later moved her membership to Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church to be with family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burl; her parents; brother, Glen Codding; daughter, Connie Jane Deckard; step-daughter, Janet Smith; and grandson, Tony Duane Chaffee.
Survived by brother, Bobby Codding of Copan; Daughter Glenda and husband Tony Chaffee, Bartlesville; son, Duane Scott and wife Patti of Edmond, OK; son-in-law, Gary Deckard, rural Dewey; step-son, Ken Kimbley and wife Judy of Bartlesville, OK and step-son, Tom Kimbley of Bartlesville. Also survived by twelve (12) grandchildren; twenty (20) great grandchildren and five (5) great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive guests at Stumpff Funeral Home on Wednesday,
September 12, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Funeral services will be
held on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Bartlesville Southern
Baptist Church with interment to follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney,
Kansas.
Funeral services and interment are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
