Richard P Keys

Feb 27, 1947 ~ Aug 19, 2016

Richard P. Keys was born February 27, 1947 in Shamrock, Texas to Ruby and Murl Keys. He passed away August 19, 2016 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 22 days.

Richard grew up in Shamrock where he graduated from high school.

He enlisted in the US Army where he served country during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he moved to the Austin, Texas area and worked as salesman in the oilfield. He returned to Shamrock, Texas where he married his first wife, Patricia. She passed away 2002 and he later married Ruth Williams in 2003. They remained in Shamrock for 3 years before moving to Erick to make their home. Richard was a Corrections Officer at the Northfork Correctional Facility in Sayre for several years. He enjoyed telling jokes and loved hunting and fishing.

Services are will be held at a later date.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and a brother.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of the home; 13 children, Pete Blocker and wife, Robbie, Hobart, OK, Sandra Williams, Chickasha, OK, Linda Simpson, Chickasha, OK, Tina Williams, Yukon, OK, John Hager, Yukon, OK, Janet Williams, Ft. Cobb, OK, Lisa Williams, Hobart, OK, Debbie Harrell and husband, Ronnie, Lindsay, OK, Samantha Williams and spouse, Amanda Brinkley, Erick, OK, Melaine, Louisiana, David Johnson and wife, LaDonna, Shamrock, TX, Michael Duval and wife, Erica, Lilllington, NC; many grandchildren, great great grandchildren and a great great great grandchild; a brother, Jimmy Don Keys, Shamrock, TX; 2 sisters, Laverne Walt, Shamrock, TX and Linda, Shamrock, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends.
