David Lynn Ketcher

June 1, 1955 ~ September 29, 2021

 David Lynn Ketcher, 66 years 3 months and 29 days old, was born June 1, 1955, in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. He was a resident of the rural community of Christie in Adair County, Oklahoma. David passed from this earth September 29, 2021, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

David was preceded in death by his wife Cindy Jean Ketcher (Sexton), his parents William “Albert” Ketcher and Francis Earlene Ketcher (Thurman). Also, siblings Bobby, Brenda, William “Junior”

Surviving his passing are 3 children: Christopher Ketcher of Stillwater, OK, Winston Ketcher and Jasmine Ketcher of the home in Christie. Surviving siblings include Jimmy Ketcher of Claremore, OK, Joy Sweptson of Rocky Mountain, OK and Betty Ferch of Wynne, AR.

By trade David was an auto mechanic, pursuing a career in manufacturing and mechanics. In his retired years he always enjoyed working on cars or anything with a motor.

David was an avid collector, a seeker of a “good find,” ready to repair or restore items he thought would be of value to his home. David was an amateur genealogical researcher and enjoyed exploring his connection to local history. In his life David discovered and became proud of his Cherokee heritage and his relation to the ancestors that survived the Trail of Tears. David was always ready to tell a story about a place or monument remembering local historical events.
